Overview

Septran DS tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of the infection-causing organism. Septran DS is a combination of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole.

Close monitoring of electrolyte levels is recommended if you have a risk of increased potassium and decreased sodium levels which could be due to certain medicines, age or due to some health condition.
Prolonged use of this medicine can lead to variations in blood count, regular blood count monitoring is recommended usually.

Dosage

Overdose

An overdose of the Septran DS may cause nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen, dizziness, rashes, headache, drowsiness, painful urination, swelling of the face weakness and symptoms of bone marrow depression can be noticed. If you think you have taken too much of Septran DS, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of Septran DS tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
