Spasmo Proxyvon Plus is a prescription medication that is a potent painkiller used in the management of moderate to severe acute pain. It combines three drugs, each of which works differently to decrease pain. The drugs in this medication include Tramadol (50mg), Dicycloverine/Dicyclomine (10mg) and Paracetamol (325mg).
Tramadol belongs to a group of drugs called opioids, which act on the brain to produce effects to decrease pain, otherwise known as analgesia. Certain chemical messengers in the brain, called neurotransmitters, signal pain. Opioid drugs decrease the release of these neurotransmitters like glutamate and substance P.
This produces a significant decrease in the amount of pain the user perceives. Dicycloverine/Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic drug that essentially acts on smooth muscle nerve endings to cause muscle relaxation. Hence it acts as an anti-spasmodic.
This drug, in particular, acts on the smooth muscles of the digestive tract, treating spasms of the intestine. Paracetamol is commonly used for fever and as a painkiller. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes that are indicated in inflammation and pain.
This medication is a potent combination used for the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain. As it contains an opioid drug, this medication has tendencies to form habits/addictions and is therefore indicated only for use over a short period of time. It also has potential for misuse and hence careful use of this medication is important.
Overdose with this medication can cause severe respiratory depression, coma and even death. It can cause severe liver and kidney dysfunction as well. In event of a suspected overdose, rush the patient immediately to a tertiary care hospital with ICU facilities for emergency intervention and further management. This medication has potential for mis-use/abuse and must be used carefully as prescribed by the treating physician.
If you miss a dose of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Dicycloverine/Dicyclomine is an anti-cholinergic drug that essentially acts on the nerve endings in smooth muscles to cause muscle relaxation. There is a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine at that acts as a chemical messenger between nerves and smooth muscles. The release of acetylcholine causes the muscle to contract. This drug blocks the action of acetylcholine and hence acts as an anti-spasmodic. Dicyclomine particularly acts on the smooth muscles of the digestive tract, treating spasms of the intestine. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is a commonly used anti-fever (antipyretic) and analgesic. It is a non-opioid drug that is given in combination with opioids to treat severe pain. It works by inhibiting the action of enzymes called cyclooxygenase that are indicated in inflammation and pain. During inflammation, multiple different chemical modulators are released, some of which are a group called prostaglandins. The cyclooxygenase enzyme plays an important role in the production of these prostaglandins. By stopping the effect of the enzyme, the drug prevents the prostaglandins from mediating the effects of inflammation, there by acting to decrease pain. It also decreases fever response.
This medication is unsafe during pregnancy. Inform your doctor regarding your pregnancy or intention to conceive at time of prescription of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus.

This medication can cause drowsiness, dizziness and sleepiness. It is not advisable to drive or operate any other heavy machinery when using this medication.
Mixing alcohol with this drug can have severe effects on the brain, causing respiratory depression, coma and even death. It is strongly contra-indicated.
Store below 30’C. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture.
This drug has habit forming tendencies. Talk to your doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist for ways to overcome this.
Alcohol is a CNS depressant. Mixing alcohol with this drug can have severe effects on the brain, causing respiratory depression, coma and even death. It is strongly contra-indicated.
This medication is a potent combination of 3 painkillers and is indicated for moderate to severe pain. For mild pain, your treating physician can prescribe other medications of appropriate potency that can treat your symptoms effectively.
