Overview

Sp Clav Sach is an antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial infections in the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. This medicine is specially designed for children and should be used under adult supervision. You can give Sp Clav Sach to your child with or without food, but it is recommended to give it with food to improve absorption and reduce the risk of stomach upset.

If your child vomits the medication within 30 minutes of taking it, let them calm down and repeat the dose. However, if it is close to the time for the next dose, do not double the dose. Symptoms of an overdose include stomach disturbances, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness and fluid retention. If you have given too much of Sp Clav Sach to your child, contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.

Missed a Dose

It is advised not to miss any dose of antibiotics as it can affect the treatment regimen. If you have missed giving any dose of Sp Clav Sach , then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Sp Clav Sach works by the combined action of both its components - amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin works by killing the bacteria responsible for infections. However, the bacteria make the enzyme (beta-lactamases) which can destroy amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid inactivates this enzyme and hence helps amoxicillin to perform its function.
