Syndopa Plus Tablet is a medication primarily used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, a central nervous system disorder that affects movement and coordination. The disease is characterized by symptoms such as tremors, spasms, muscle stiffness, difficulty in walking, and poor balance. These symptoms occur due to low dopamine levels in the brain, as the neurons responsible for producing dopamine gradually die.
Syndopa Plus Tablet contains two active ingredients: Levodopa and Carbidopa . Levodopa, a central nervous system agent, is converted into dopamine in the brain, which helps improve movement and control. Carbidopa, a decarboxylase inhibitor, works by preventing the breakdown of Levodopa in the bloodstream, ensuring that more Levodopa reaches the brain for effectiveness.
This medication should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, and its use should continue as directed. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, light-headedness, lowered blood pressure, confusion, and dyskinesia (involuntary muscle movements). These side effects usually resolve over time and do not require medical attention unless they persist or worsen.
If you experience severe or persistent side effects, consult your doctor promptly. It is important to inform your doctor if you are allergic to any components of the medication or have a medical history that includes glaucoma, asthma, dizziness, mental illness, or intense urges such as gambling, overeating, or increased sexual impulses. Additionally, Syndopa Plus should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Levodopa must also be discontinued at least 12 hours before starting this medication. Always communicate openly with your doctor about your medical condition and any concerns before beginning Syndopa Plus Tablet. Syndopa CR tablet , Tidomet Plus tablet and LCD tablet are a few other medicines containing levodopa and carbidopa.
If you happen to take more than the prescribed dose of Syndopa Plus tablet, report to the nearest hospital immediately. It may cause rapid, irregular heartbeats, uncontrolled muscular twitching and loss of consciousness.
If you missed any dose of Syndopa Plus tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
Syndopa Plus offers relief in symptoms of Parkinson’s disease by increasing the levels of dopamine in the brain. Levodopa gets converted into Dopamine. This dopamine gives relief from symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Carbidopa helps in maintaining an optimal level of levodopa by inhibiting its breakdown by enzymes before it reaches the brain.
