Tenof Tablet is used in the treatment of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and HBV (hepatitis B virus) infections. It contains tenofovir as its active ingredient. This medicine prevents viral replication, thereby decreasing viral load in the blood.
Take this medicine with food and water. You may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, gastric upset, headache, dizziness, and abdominal pain, as well as decreased electrolyte levels, with the use of this medicine. Please let your doctor know if you have any liver, kidney, bone, or low immunity.
If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
Tenofovir blocks important enzymes of HIV and Hepatitis B virus, that is needed for development and growth. Thus it interferes with viral multiplication. It decreases the amount of virus in the blood (called viral load) and may help to increase the number of T cells (responsible for the immunity).
There is limited information regarding the safety of the Tenof Tablet in pregnant women. Hence it is advisable to consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

Tenof Tablet may cause dizziness, headache, tiredness or muscle weakness. So, if you experience any of these side effects, avoid driving.
Alcohol can increases the side effect of Tenof Tablet such as dizziness, liver damage, headache. Thus, you should avoid alcohol while on this medicine.
