Overview

Tonact Cp tablet is a cholesterol-lowering medicine used to lower down the bad cholesterol level, triglyceride levels (like fat in the blood) and reduce the risk of heart problems like a heart stroke. It contains atorvastatin as its active ingredient. It belongs to a group of lipid-lowering medications, known as "Statins" or "HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors".

It acts by inhibiting this enzyme involved in regulating cholesterol levels in your body, decreasing the levels of bad cholesterol and increasing the levels of good cholesterol. It is recommended to take this medicine at bedtime. Since cholesterol production or build-up takes place majorly at night when the body is at the resting phase, it is more effective when taken at night.
