It serves to relieve chest pain and regulate the heartbeat. While taking this medicine, it is essential to maintain a healthy diet and engage in regular exercise. It should be taken as directed by your doctor and in the prescribed doses and duration.
It can be taken with or without food. Do not discontinue this medicine unless instructed to do so by your doctor. The doctor may also recommend avoiding potassium supplements during treatment, as they may raise potassium levels in the bloodstream.
It is essential to regularly monitor your blood pressure, and your doctor may request some kidney tests during treatment to ensure the medicines are functioning properly. An overdose of tablet can result in lethargy, missing heartbeats, excessive slowing of heartbeats, swelling of the hands, feet, ankles or lower legs, shakiness, dizziness, increased levels of potassium in the blood, kidney failure, loss of consciousness, sweating, confusion, blurred vision, headache, pale colour, numbness or tingling in the mouth. Seek immediate medical help in case of overdose.
If you miss any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of tablet to compensate for a missed one.
Angiotensin-II released in the body causes blood vessels to narrow, leading to an increase in blood pressure. tablet prevents the binding of Angiotensin-II to its receptors, which causes the blood vessels to relax and lowers blood pressure. tablet also functions by decreasing the heart rate, thereby reducing blood pressure and the strain on the heart.
Do not stop taking tablet without consulting your doctor first, who might suggest you decrease your dose gradually. Stopping tablet suddenly can cause chest pain, irregular heartbeats or a heart attack.
