Welnate Tablet is an antimalarial medicine used to treat malaria. It contains artesunate. Your doctor will add other antimalarial medicines along with this Tablet to treat your malaria infection completely.
It works by generating harmful chemicals (free radicals) inside the malarial parasite, ultimately leading to its death. Headache, nausea, and discomfort are some common side effects of this medicine. However, these are temporary and go away on their own.
Before starting it, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Swallow the tablets as a whole. Do not crush or chew.
Take exactly as directed by your doctor.
Limited information is available on the use of Welnate Tablet in pregnant women. Use in pregnancy is not recommended.
Components of Welnate Tablet pass into breastmilk. Use of this Tablet during breastfeeding should be avoided.
Welnate Tablet does not affect your ability to drive but you should avoid driving till you get well completely.
Alcohol is not known to interact with Welnate Tablet. However, if you consume alcohol too often, discuss it with your doctor.
Talk to your doctor if
For optimum effect, doses of Welnate Tablet should not be missed. If you miss a dose of it, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
