How Doctar collects, moderates, and publishes ratings and reviews for emergency services across India β with full transparency.
Reviews on Doctar may be submitted by patients, caregivers, or verified users who have directly interacted with an emergency service provider listed on the platform. Submissions require a verified phone number or registered Doctar account.
Unverified or anonymous reviews are not accepted. Doctar reserves the right to request proof of interaction (such as a visit date or booking reference) before publishing a review for a high-stakes emergency service provider.
Ratings are collected through three channels:
Post-interaction prompts: After a user contacts or visits a listed provider via Doctar, a review prompt is sent via SMS or in-app notification.
Voluntary submissions: Users may submit a review at any time from a provider listing page while logged in.
Operator-submitted data: Response times and operational metrics are self-reported by facility operators and clearly labelled as such on each listing.
Response-time ratings reflect the average time from initial contact to service arrival or confirmation, as reported by verified users. Each provider listing displays:
Operator-reported metrics (e.g., "average ambulance dispatch time: 8 min") are displayed separately and clearly labelled Operator Data β not as user-verified ratings.
All submitted reviews go through a two-stage moderation process before publication:
Stage 1 β Automated filter
Reviews are scanned for prohibited content: spam, offensive language, personal information (names, phone numbers), and content unrelated to the service interaction.
Stage 2 β Human review
Reviews for emergency services (hospitals, ambulances, blood banks, trauma centers) are manually reviewed by a Doctar moderator within 48 hours of submission due to the high-stakes nature of these listings.
Published reviews are displayed on the provider's listing page in reverse-chronological order. Each review shows:
The aggregate star rating and total review count are displayed prominently at the top of each listing.
Doctar may remove a review if it:
Facility operators may flag a review for investigation. Flagged reviews remain visible while under review unless they contain prohibited content.
Doctar does not offer, accept, or permit incentivised reviews β including reviews submitted in exchange for discounts, gifts, referral credits, or preferential listing placement. Any provider found soliciting fake or incentivised reviews will be permanently removed from the platform and reported to the relevant regulatory authority.
