Fucidin ointment contains fusidic acid as its active ingredient. It helps to treat infections caused by certain bacteria on the skin. Fucidin ointment is for external application only and should be used only if prescribed by a doctor.
It is not effective against fungal skin diseases. It should not be used in children under 1 year of age. Common side effects associated with this ointment include itching, dryness, redness, or a burning sensation at the site of application.
