Maxtra tablet is a combination of two medicine, phenylephrine and chlorpheniramine maleate, which is primarily used to treat symptoms of the common cold. The medication is generally prescribed for sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose and blocked nose.
Overdosing can result in sedation, convulsion, cardiovascular collapse and arrhythmia. Report to your doctor immediately.
The medication generally treats allergic reaction symptoms. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that improves the dilation of the small blood vessel in the nose, providing relief from congestion. Chlorpheniramine maleate works by providing anti-allergic action by blocking histamine.
